Product Description The Actron ABS brake scan diagnostic tool reads and displays ABS trouble codes and definitions. U.S.A.
Amazon.com The Actron ABS BrakeScan is an innovative and affordable solution to brake repairs. Developed by the same experts that designed the first retail Check Engine Light reader and scan tool, the Actron ABS BrakeScan connects to most domestic vehicles 1996 and newer and allows you to diagnose Anti-Lock Brake problems on your own. View the Vehicle Coverage Guide. View Larger | Actron ABS BrakeScan Saves Time and Money The appearance of an ABS light on the dashboard typically signals an expensive trip to the mechanic. Actron arms do-it-yourself mechanics with tools previously only available to professional technicians. BrakeScan helps identify what parts are required to fix ABS-related problems, allowing you to avoid a trip to the mechanic's shop. Be Smarter When Talking to Your Technician In the event that you do need to visit your automotive professional, the Actron ABS BrakeScan gives you the information you need before you go. The BrakeScan's robust code library is embedded right in the tool, and you can view necessary information on the large, backlit screen. Being empowered with this wealth of knowledge enables you to visit your auto technician with confidence. Easy-to-use Features The Actron ABS BrakeScan connects to the OBD-II port on most domestic vehicles 1996 and newer. It diagnoses the brake control module, ABS pump motor, brake switch, wheel speed sensors, ABS solenoids, vehicle speed sensors and more. The onboard ABS code library is updateable online via a USB connection to your computer. An optional battery backup can be used to save data and power the BrakeScan unit when not attached to an automobile. Help screens are also available for additional assistance. What's in the Box The Actron ABS BrakeScan also includes a detachable OBD-II cable, a durable carrying case, and a Quick Start manual.

Junk unless <2005 August 3, 2010 S Scott Larsen (WEST JORDAN, UTAH, US) Do not buy this product if your vehicle or any potential vehicle is newer than 2005. Actron claims it updates its software but never will they update for newer modles.
brake tester July 25, 2010 MasterBlaster I like this product but I wish more cars and trucks were avalible on the unit for testing that is the only draw back just make sure your car is on the list before you order if it is the thing will save you money and its easy to use!
great scanner, great price, available and in stock, shipped fast July 5, 2010 Duane Wong (Somerset, PA USA) The scanner worked great out of the box, and was able to diagnose problem quickly and efficiently.
Cleared codes with it, worked as described. Would buy again from same source.
Not compatible with 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan June 7, 2010 James M. Temple (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Amazon description indicates it is compatible with all domestic vehicles. I called Actron and was told it is not compatible with the Grand Caravan 2005 and up.
Poor, poor excuse for a code reader April 12, 2010 mikefromseattle (Seattle, Washington) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Prior to purchasing this, I did due diligence in checking whether my car (2004 Ford Mustang) was on the list of compatible vehicles. I received the unit, put in a fresh battery, programmed it telling it what car I had, then plugged it into the OBD 2 port in the car. Key off, key on, engine on, key in accessory position, didn't matter, the unit continued to report "communications error, could not communicate with vehicle". I found a compatible USB cable amongst my gear and downloaded the update from Actron off of the web, successfully installed it, still no go. Returning unit to Amazon this week for a refund. Afraid to try a replacement, I don't trust this unit to work. Do yourself a favor and either a) let the dealer diagnose the problem for the same price you paid for this, or b) invest in one of the more expensive units from a reputable manufacturer.
